Social Networks and Small Businesses

What is the point of Twitter? How are Search engine optimization services supposed to use it to promote social media sites? Why are people waiting to dive into it? The answer is just because we don’t know enough about the benefits of using it, but what are exactly this benefit?

They are many and the 3 most visible are:

1) Building relationships inside communities builds opportunities and trust

2) It has good search placement and this is just one aspect

3) Is is a gold mine of marketing strategies

Was created for spamminess, we shout use twitter while it still carries some value. I was reading lately the idea that marketing is not identifying a market, understanding it better it is a good approach. A new app inside it called and it provides a perch from where you can learn and observe.

what can you use this perch for? You can apply a novel part of marketing: listening. the simple fact is the difference between a savvy marketer and a spammer or simply a bad marketer. The bad marketer uses a tactic and good one uses a strategy… the difference is just in the long run. A tactic usually includes actions like spammers, who, talking , would never be followed or would be unfollowed by the time he would betray the Twitterer’s trust, and never benefit from the fact that Twitter, now ranks very high in Google’s results.

Rocketboom’s Andrew Baron was able to show us this when he discovered that only 8 sites ranked for the term “I got a call from eBay.” We can’t think of this like the one freak occurrence. The awesome is that Twitter pages, are always on google’s first page without fail. the way to do it is: brand yourself on Twitter, a social media site with very high trust, and you establish a great visibility in SERPs.

Can all of this be beneficial to you? Well, it depends, you need to have a product to offer or a services to promote. If you don’t have that you can only benfit from connecting with some people and you can build relationships. The holy grail of Twitter is through the concept of permissionbased marketing. Twitter followees and followers are in a network by their choice, if they fill you’ve earned it, they are going to be your clients.

In a survey done by SmallBizTrends, just a couple of social networks popped up when people where asked which were the best sites for small businesses: Facebook and Twitter. and is because allow you to interact with markets and build relationships and trust in your niche.

Messages are very much to the point, what people like! It doesn’t necessarily has to be a marketing pitch they can smell, but a message to build trust. Remember this is web 2.0 and in social media people want to buy and do business whit people they trust and respect, so you have to build trust.

Marketers often fail to realize that you don’t build a nice familiarity with message bombarding people, they are more likely to ignore you. You build good relationships by understanding people better and helping understand you better. You should tweet to communicate with your audience about successes, about your thoughts on the elections, about your favorite sports or what ever.

This is the best use for these sprouting one to many, permission-based channels: It all about your message and your terms.

Prime Minister of England, uses a Twitter account to deliver messages to his team without the filter/translation/supposed bias. you can’t deny the idea makes sense. Other businesses use it for free giveaways and as customer care situations.

I hope this article illustrates how marketers can benefit from Twitter and the other social networks in a smart, meaningful, and strategic way, it is time to start to use it.
